Bio

Dorsett signed his first professional deal with the club in October 2019, just days after making his international debut for the England Under-18 side in wins over Austria and Poland.

Almost a year later in September 2020, the young defender signed a contract extension keeping him at the club until the summer of 2022.

The centre-back was a regular for our Under-18s during the 2019-20 season and he came off the bench back in January to make his first team bow in an FA Cup victory over Blackpool.

In replacing fellow Academy graduate Andre Burley at the back, Jeriel added his name to the Academy Honours Board at Select Car Leasing Stadium, becoming the 56th player to come through the ranks at Reading and feature for our first team.

He then made his first Royals start in January 2021, playing the full 90 minutes of our 1-0 FA Cup Third Round defeat to Luton Town.

In the same season, he also continued as a regular for our U23s during their Premier League 2 campaign and was named on the first-team bench on nine occasions.

Jeriel spent the 2021/22 season out on loan gaining invaluable experience at League Two side Rochdale where he played 45 times and collected the North West side’s ‘Young Player of the Year’ award.

He also spent the 2022-23 season on-loan with Kilmarnock, before returning to the Royals for the 2023-24 campaign, making appearances in the EFL Cup and in our historic 9-0 win over Exeter City in September. He also continues to start regularly for Noel Hunt's U21 side.

The Central Defender also switched his international allegiance to Montserrat in the summer of 2023, earning his first senior call up in September, debuting as he played the full 90 in a 3-2 win over Barbados.
