Zimbabwe international pens new one year deal
Reading Football Club are delighted to announce that 21 year old midfielder Tivonge Rushesha has signed a new one year contract, keeping him in RG2 until the summer of 2025.
Affectionately known within the squad as 'Tiv', he was signed from Swansea City last summer and would go on to make 11 First Team appearances across all competitions in 2023-24.
He made his debut for Rubén Sellés' team in last season's opening day match with Peterborough United at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, coming on as a substitute with 20 minutes of the game remaining.
His full debut would come just a few days later in the resounding 4-0 away victory against Millwall in Round One of the Carabao Cup, before going on to start in the narrow penalties loss to promotion bound Ipswich Town in the next round.
Tiv played his part in his team's historic 9-0 away victory against Exeter City in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy, playing the full 90 minutes and notching an assist in the process.
Head of Football Operations, Mark Bowen, said “We’re very happy to secure the signature of Tiv for the upcoming season. His attitude and application around both the First Team and Under 21 sides has been exceptional throughout his first year, and we are all looking forward to seeing him continue his development with us.”
