REMINDER

It is important to reiterate to our supporters that no matter the strength of feeling – and as a club we are fully aware and understand fans’ frustrations - it is unacceptable for any supporters to enter the field of play before, during or after the match or to throw missiles of any description onto the pitch.

We acknowledge that fans have the right to a voice and to make that voice heard, but any supporter protests which disrupt the running of a matchday or the club’s day-to-day operations, threaten to directly impact the staff, the players and other fans. Disruption to matchday operations can lead to significant penalties and fines for the club, which cannot possibly aid the club’s cause.

Supporters in breach of the rules may also receive a criminal record or a banning order, so we would strongly advise against any supporter action which might bring the club into disrepute and impact the running of this or future club fixtures.

THE OPPOSITION

Leyton Orient head to Berkshire on the back of a unbeaten five match run which includes impressive victories against promotion chasing Portsmouth and Bolton Wanderers in their last two.

The series of positive results has seen Richie's Wellens' team elevate themselves into the top ten of the League One table, as they continue to adapt well to life in the third tier after gaining promotion last term.

ONE TO WATCH: Dan Agyei

Signing for the O's at the start of this campaign, the explosive forward would find he wouldn't make his first appearance until coming off the bench in a home draw against Wigan Athletic.

Since the turn of the year however, the 26 year old has scored in each of his sides last three matches, showing that he is more than prepared to make up for lost time.

PLAYED FOR BOTH: Jobi McAnuff

If you mention the name Jobi McAnuff to both Reading and Leyton Orient fans alike, you would be hard pressed to find someone who didn't have a good word to say about their former player.

Amassing over 300 appearances across both clubs, the former Jamaican international is well known in Berkshire as the tricky winger who captain his team to the Championship title in the 2011/12 campaign.

In East London he would repeat the feat by captaining the O's to the National League title in 2018/19, securing a return to the Football League at the second time of asking. He would also go onto manage the team on an interim basis towards the end of the 2020/21 campaign following the sacking of Ross Embleton.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Fixtures between the Royals and the O's have been few and far between in recent times, with Saturday's clash set to be Orient's first league visit to the Select Car Leasing Stadium since it opened in 1998.

You have to go back just over 30 years to October 1993 for the last league action between the sides in Reading, an encounter that saw the hosts take a 2-1 victory at Elm Park.

Overall, the Royals have 28 wins, Leyton Orient have 25, and the teams have shared the points on 20 occasions.

REF WATCH

Graham Scott is the man in the middle for this one, accompanied by Andrew Dallison and Carl Fitch-Jackson who will be running the line. Sam Purkiss will be the fourth official.
