Royals maintain unbeaten start

Royals had to dig deep for the final 35 minutes after Troelsgaard's early dismissal, but in the end they held on for a point to maintain their unbeaten start.

The opening whistle saw Wade sprinting down the right wing, but her efforts led to a Charlton goal kick.

Cooper, poised outside the box, seized an early opportunity with her left foot, but the attempt was easily gathered by Rogers.

Muya, making strides down the right wing, took a shot that sailed just over the bar – a sigh of relief for Reading.

Charlton asserted dominance in possession during the initial 10 minutes of play.

Troelsgaard's relentless pressure on the Charlton right-back earned Reading their first corner. The short corner routine was cleared by Charlton.

Muya, looking lively on the right-hand side, outplayed Dugdale on the left and squared the ball to Humphreys, whose strike was parried by Orman.

As the first half reached its 30-minute mark, neither side managed a clear-cut chance, with the visitors maintaining control of the ball.

Johnson had a half-chance, volleying from the edge of the box, but her effort found its way into Orman's capable hands.

Tensions escalated as the halftime whistle blew, with Charlton enjoying the lion's share of possession.

The second half got off to a nightmarish start for Reading as Troeslgaard received a red card for an off-the-ball offense on Skeels.

Muya skillfully maneuvered past Dugdale and delivered a dangerous ball into the box, but no one could connect – another close call for Reading.

Charlton had their opportunity when Roe, down the left, managed to keep the ball in play and sent a cross. Green met it with a header, but Orman made a remarkable save to deny Charlton.

A handball by Mayi Kith in a perilous area gave Charlton a free kick, but the attempt struck the wall, and Reading cleared the danger.

With just 10 players on the field, Reading put up a solid defensive front, while Charlton, similar to the first half, continued to dominate possession.

Charlton came agonizingly close! Humphreys had the best chance of the game, striking the ball from the edge of the box, only to see it rebound off the wrong side of the post.

Reading nearly snatched victory! Wade's left-footed effort came dangerously close, but Rogers managed to save at her near post.

It was a grueling battle for Reading, going down to 10 players early in the second half. Scoring opportunities were fleeting for both sides, with Charlton maintaining possession for much of the game. The points were ultimately shared in Reading's opening home game of the season, with the match ending in a hard-fought 0-0 draw.

Full-time: Reading 0 - 0 Charlton
