Two further friendlies announced in preparation for 2023-24

Another two dates have been added to the diary for pre-season – Sky Bet Championship duo Swansea City and Queens Park Rangers will be visiting Berkshire in the final fortnight before the 2023-24 season begins.

On Tuesday 25 July, Gareth Ainsworth’s QPR will be visiting our Bearwood Park training ground for a behind-closed-doors friendly, kicking off at 1pm.

The West London club, who counted former Royals Chris Martin and Rob Dickie among their numbers last season, claimed a 2-2 draw on their last trip to Berkshire when we played host at the Select Car Leasing Stadium in January.

And while this pre-season training-ground game won’t be open to the public, we will bring our supporters full coverage via our social media channels and website.

The following weekend, Swansea City will visit the Select Car Leasing Stadium on Saturday 29 July (kick-off 3pm).

We’ve had enjoyable occasions on each of the last two times the Swans visited RG2 – Andy Carroll and Tom Ince each found the net when we won 2-1 in the festive period last season… the season before, Tom McIntyre’s stoppage-time strike earned us a share of the spoils in a 4-4 draw on Easter Monday!

The fixture will be open to supporters of both clubs to attend (ticketing information to follow in due course) and takes place exactly one week before our 2023-24 campaign in League One is due to commence.

These two fixtures take the total of pre-season games in the schedule up to four – we have already announced our away trips to Bristol City (behind-closed-doors at their Robins High Performance Centre) on Wednesday 12 July, before our first-ever visit to Gander Green Lane on Saturday 15 July to meet Sutton United.

We will continue to announce pre-season plans as and when they are arranged in the coming weeks and update supporters when fixtures are confirmed.

A reminder that Season Tickets offer the very best value in the 2023-24 season - all 23 league games included for prices beginning at £325 for Adults.

But there is only limited time left for last year's Season Ticket holders to renew theirs at the very best rate; make sure you get yours by Friday 16 June to take advantage of the very best prices.

I was there then, I’ll be there again.
