Matchday experience recognised at the Select Car Leasing Stadium
We are very pleased to announce that we have once again received the EFL Family Excellence Award for the 2022-23 season.
In doing so, we remain one of very few clubs to have been awarded Family Excellence status on every eligible occasion since the scheme's inception over the past 15 years. Standards are always improving, and we continue to stay ahead of the curve in our ambitions to attract families and young supporters and retain our fans of the future.
Each of the EFL's 72 member clubs are assessed by two 'mystery family' visits per season; it's much more than a box-ticking exercise. Detailed, qualitative feedback is given and key touchpoints are assessed: first impressions, social media, travel, stadium vicinity, retail, refreshments and inside the stadium. And from those experiences, clubs are also assessed on the people representing the club, friendless, and feeling valued.
We put in considerable effort in engaging young supporters this season – including our four Schools & Grassroots games, which generated amazing atmospheres and offered many young people from the local area their first chance to experience live football.
The first of our two visits at the Select Car Leasing Stadium came in November for our fixture against Preston North End, which was followed up at our game against Hull City in March. And the summary highlighted a positive experience from the visiting family…
