We all know that moment when the ball sits up invitingly, a long way from goal, where everyone in the home seats are desperate to see it nestle in the corner… and when the ball broke to Jeff Hendrick against Queens Park Rangers in January, he heeded the crowd’s advice and drilled it in!
And as a consequence, Jeff’s goal has been voted by the fans as the 2022-23 Goal of the Season.
Selected from the top 12 across our men’s and women’s teams, Jeff’s effort had swerve, power, and precision – absolutely no chance for Seny Dieng in the Rangers’ net.
Hendrick was handed the award at the End of Season Awards dinner at the Select Car Leasing Stadium on Wednesday evening; a full round-up of the winners will be on our website on Thursday.
