Reading Football Club can confirm that Tom Ince has today completed a move to Sky Bet Championship side Watford for an undisclosed fee.
The 31-year-old forward first joined Reading when he made a deadline day loan switch from Stoke City in January 2022; he grabbed important goals in draws against AFC Bournemouth and Swansea City at the back end of the campaign during his initial 15 appearances.
Ince made the move permanent last summer, rejoining dad Paul at the Select Car Leasing Stadium – and he would go on to make 37(+2) appearances in all competitions over the course of 2022-23. He contributed nine goals for the Royals throughout the year and was voted as the fans’ official Player of the Season, but saw his season cut short when he sustained an injury at the end of March.
Ahead of the start of the 2023-24 campaign, Ince departs RG2 to make the move back to the Championship and join the Hornets.
All at Reading Football Club would like to thank Tom for all of his efforts as a Royal and wish him well in his future career.
