Part 2, Day 1! Sam Smith made his Reading return on Saturday after two years away, where he had enjoyed a thoroughly productive spell with Cambridge United.

And no time was wasted. Straight onto the training ground later that morning, getting to work with Rubén Sellés, and preparing for all that lies ahead.
