Tom Ince talks about learning from defeat at Stoke and focusing on the next game at Old Trafford

Royals midfielder Thomas Ince says the team focuses on one game at a time, but admits that this is one the team has been looking forward to.

It's been a few weeks now since the FA Cup Fourth Round draw, where Reading were drawn away to Manchester United.

Ince, who has been a driving creative force for the Royals this season, says he's relishing the challenge and has already been receiving messages from friends and family reminding him of his connection with the club.

“We’ve been looking forward to it. After a disappointing result on Saturday it’s good to get a game of this magnitude. Going to Old Trafford. A lot of our lads would have dreamt about playing there and we’ve got that opportunity on Saturday. It’s a nice distraction from the league and we can go there and play with confidence. It’s sort of a free hit for us. The main thing is to enjoy the experience and try to put on the best performance we can.

“It's always nice to test yourself against the best teams in the world and the best players and to do it at Old Trafford is even more special. It’ll be a great occasion one that I’m sure everyone in training will want to be involved in. It’s about going there and giving a good account of ourselves.

"There’s no pressure on us – they’re expected to win – but we have to go there and do our best and hopefully cause an upset.

“I’ve been sent that clip of me, a young Alex Bruce and Kasper Schmeichel many, many times – it rolls back the years! It’s really special - the fact that all three of us have made a career out of the game. You don’t see that very often. Great times there as a kid, obviously I was born in Manchester and watched my old man play there and it’s a fantastic club with a fantastic stadium.

"I’m sure there might be a few nerves on Saturday because it’s not often you get to play against that type of opposition. We just need to do the preparation right and make sure we go into the game in the best shape possible.”
