A place in the quarter-final at stake against Brighton U21…

We can confirm that our Bristol Street Motors Trophy fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion U21 will take place at the American Express Stadium on Tuesday 9 January 2024, kicking off at 7pm.

A place in the quarter-final is up for grabs on the night; we’ll head to the south coast looking to continue our run.

We romped through our group games against Exeter, Swindon and Arsenal U21 with an aggregate 19-2 scoreline… we were made to work for it in the Round of 32 when we were taken to penalties by Charlton.

Brighton’s Under-21 side beat Walsall in their group, and drew with each of Shrewsbury and Forest Green – losing to the former in the subsequent shoot-out, and beating the latter. In their knockout game at MK Dons, they romped to a 4-0 win.

And now we’ll meet under the floodlights at the Amex in the new year, with a place in the final eight on offer.

Ticket information for this game will be released in due course.

Please note that our Sky Bet League One fixture away at Stevenage, which was scheduled for Saturday 6 January 2024, has been postponed.

Stevenage’s midweek win against Port Vale in the FA Cup second round means that they have booked a place in Round Three, away at Maidstone.

With FA Cup third round ties taking place on the first weekend of 2024, it takes priority over our league fixture at the Lamex Stadium, which will be postponed until a later date.

The two clubs and the EFL will agree a date and announce in due course.

Similarly, a new date for our home fixture against Derby County – which was originally scheduled for November – is due to be arranged and announced in the near future.
