American under-19 international bolsters Royals defence
We are delighted to announce the signing of USA under-19 international Tyler Bindon on a two-year contract, who joins the Royals from Los Angeles FC subject to the usual ratifications from the relevant governing bodies and receipt of international clearance.
The 18-year-old defender rose through the ranks in the Academy at LAFC before starting training with the Royals in the second half of last season.
He has been heavily involved in first-team training since Rubén Sellés took over as manager, making four appearances in pre-season.
The American featured in both friendlies at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, coming off the bench against Swansea City and Southampton.

Sport runs in the family for Tyler, with both his mum and dad representing New Zealand in their respective sports.
His mum, Jenny, made 77 appearances in goal for New Zealand between 2004 and 2014, whilst his dad Grant was captain of the nation’s volleyball team.
Bindon was first called up to the USA under-19 squad in April 2022, and debuted in March of this year when they travelled to Argentina for a training camp.
He made his first appearance for his nation against Argentina, and earned his second cap four days later in a game against Racing Club de Avellaneda.

Mark Bowen, Head of Football Operations said: “Tyler is a bright lad both on and off the football pitch who has the work ethic and determination for a successful career in the sport.
“It was clear very early on that we wanted to bring him in, but we have all had to be very patient to get this deal done. So we are extremely happy to have fended off serious interest from high-profile clubs, finalised the deal, and see him join us – and we look forward to seeing him develop and learn at this club.”
Welcome to the Royals, Tyler!
