Rose set for spell out

Reading striker, Deanne Rose, will be out of action for an extended period following an Achilles injury sustained in our opening WSL match on Saturday.

Rose started for the Royals against Manchester United on Saturday, but had to be withdrawn 20 minutes into the first half.

Following scans, it has been confirmed that the club will be without Rose as she begins her recovery after rupturing her Achilles.

Rose joined the Royals last season, where she proved to be an influential member of the squad and a real threat scoring five goals in all competitions, one being a memorable goal against Chelsea back in December, giving Reading their first ever win against the Blues.

On the injury, Rose said, "I really don’t have many words to describe the disappointment that I’m feeling. However, I have the determination, faith and a mindset to come back stronger both mentally and physically.

It has meant a lot to see all  of your messages of support, loving prayers and positivity as I now begin my road to returning.”

As Deanne now begins her recovery process, the club would like to wish her the speediest of recoveries and we'll be supporting her every step of the way.
