We are truly saddened to learn of the passing of Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II at the age of 96, and the thoughts of everyone at Reading Football Club remain with the Royal Family at this difficult time.
Following the death of Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II and further to previous communication, the football authorities have collectively determined that all fixtures from 9 – 11 September will be postponed as a mark of respect by the National Sport.
This includes our men’s trip to Watford on Saturday 10 September and our women’s home fixture against Liverpool on Sunday 11 September, both of which will be rearranged. Ticketing information will also be circulated in due course for both fixtures, but supporters should keep hold of their tickets.
EFL fixtures will recommence from Tuesday 13 September 2022, and we will host Sunderland on Wednesday 14 September (8pm).
The decision is aligned with the approach that the Premier League and FA will take with their competitions and follows earlier discussions with Government and fellow sports organisations.
