Our official squad snap, incorporating the climate stripes, for the current campaign...

The first-team squad gathered at our Bearwood Park base for the 2022-23 squad photo - and for this year's pic, the climate stripes featured prominently!

Our senior players gathered in front of the first-team building, wearing their home shirts... the stripes on the sleeves represent the changing, increasingly warm temperatures in Berkshire since the club was formed. And alongside them was one of Reading Buses' gas-powered fleet, wrapped in the climate stripes motif.

Professor Ed Hawkins - climatologist at the University of Reading who designed the 'conversation starter' climate stripes which are now famous the world over - joined the squad for a photo, along with representatives from Reading Buses and Reading Borough Council, who are both putting sustainability high on the agenda.

Monday 7 November marks the start of Reading Council's climate month, striving to educate, engage and inspire residents to make positive changes and reduce their carbon footprint. A similar story to our own; on #ShowYourStripes day, we committed to doing better as we forged a partnership with the University of Reading and took the first steps in our climate-change journey.

Principal partner Select Car Leasing were also represented by owners Mark Tongue and James O'Malley, and the manager invited the wider staff from the club in for a final photo - the team behind the team, including groundsmen, operational staff, and the chefs!
