Paul Ince's squad are due to spend a week of pre-season at St George's Park in early July to help them prepare for what is set to be another big challenge in the Championship in 2022-23.

The Royals are expected to be at the 330-acre Staffordshire-based training complex, which is the home of England’s national football teams, during the first full week of July.

St George's provides 14 outdoor pitches, a full-size indoor 3G pitch, a suite of rehabilitation and sports science areas as part of its world-class facilities - and the aim is to end the week at St George's Park with a friendly fixture played behind closed doors.

The first team squad are due to return from their shortened summer break for the first day of pre-season training on Monday 20th June and only later that week will supporters learn how their club's league schedule will pan out with fixtures in the EFL being announced on the morning of Thursday 23 June.

A series of pre-season friendlies, which we anticipate will include two matches at the Select Car Leasing Stadium in the final fortnight before the 2022-23 season kicks off, are being finalised as we speak and confirmation of our opponents, kick-off dates and times as well as ticket details will be announced in due course.
