Reading Football Club can confirm that new contract offers have been made to a number of first team players whose contracts come to an end this summer.

Tom Holmes, Josh Laurent, Andy Rinomhota, Femi Azeez and Andy Yiadom have all been offered new deals at Reading. Contract discussions with these five players as well as a number of other first team players remain ongoing.

We bid farewell to all five loan players who now return to their parent clubs at the end of their loan contracts with the club. Thank you to Danny Drinkwater, Tom Dele-Bashiru, Baba Rahman, Tom Ince and Karl Hein for their contribution during the course of the 2021-22 campaign.

And we would also like to wish the very best of luck for the future to Terell Thomas, Brandon Barker, Orjan Nyland, Felipe Araruna, Alen Halilovic and Marc McNulty, who all leave the club at the culmination of their contract terms this summer.

At present, following talks between the club and the players, new contracts have not been issued in writing to Junior Hoilett, Michael Morrison and John Swift. However Head of Football Operations, Mark Bowen, has engaged in conversations with all three and their agents and, whilst officially they are being released at the end of their current contracts, dialogue is continuing during the close season period and both the club and the players in question may opt to re-enter negotiations in the coming weeks.

All the offers made to players have been made within the strict financial parameters in which we are permitted to operate in accordance with the EFL restrictions that remain in place.

Amongst our Under-23s squad, new professional contracts have been offered to defenders Nelson Abbey, Jeriel Dorsett and Imari Samuels, midfielders Claudio Osorio, Kian Leavy and Rashawn Scott as well as forwards Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan and Nahum Melvin-Lambert.

A number of our Under-18s players who are reaching the culmination of their scholarship this summer have also received offers of professional deals at the club – Mamadi Camara, Jahmari Clarke, Tyrell Ashcroft and Louie Holzman all featured for the first team last season and have been offered new contracts this summer.

Michael Stickland put pen to paper on a professional contract during the course of last season, while Hamid Abdel Salam, Sam Paul, Matthew Rowley and Benjamin Purcell have all been offered pro terms.

Ajani Giscombe, meanwhile, put his signature to a professional deal with the Royals last May and will be at Reading next season after that deal was automatically activated when he turned 17 last month. Harvey Maudner and David Nyarko, meanwhile, have been given a third year to their scholarship to keep them at the club in 2022-23.

The Royals do bid farewell to Ethan Bristow, James Holden, Lynford Sackey and Malachi Talent-Aryeetey while Jordan Addo-Antoine also departs this summer at the end of his scholarship. We would like to wish all those leaving the club the very best of luck in the next chapter of their careers.
