Duo put pen to paper on two-year-long pro contracts at Reading Football Club
We are pleased to announce that promising 18-year-old Academy graduates Kelvin Abrefa and Jack Senga have today signed professional contracts at the club, keeping them at the club until 2024.
Abrefa has been named in the first team squad on 15 occasions so far this season, making his professional debut towards the end of our clash with Coventry City last month to become the 74th player to come through our Academy ranks and break into the senior side.

A versatile right-sided defender who can also operate in midfield, Abrefa make his Under-23s bow aged just 17 last season and, in 2021-22, has played up an age group to start ten times in the Premier League 2.
Senga, comfortable in central defence or midfield, made his senior team debut during a loan spell at Maidenhead United earlier this season, making four appearances for the National League outfit.

And he was twice included in first team matchday squads at Reading; Senga’s name appeared on the teamsheet for our cup defeats to Swansea City and Kidderminster Harriers but, an unused substitute in both, he still awaits his Royals bow.
The talented pair have now committed their futures to Reading Football Club by putting pen to paper on two-year deals in RG2.
Academy Manager, Michael Gilkes, said "I'm delighted that Kelvin and Jack, two promising young footballers we have watched mature as both players and people within our Academy system, have agreed to professional terms with the club.
"Still only 18, they have thrived in competitive Under-23s football and experienced the first team environment this season and I look forward to watching them take the next step in their careers."
