Former Royals midfielder announces new chapter
Reading FC Women are delighted to announce Brooke Chaplen as the new General Manager. Brooke starts the role immediately in advance of the start of the new WSL campaign.
Having hung up her boots at the end of last season, Brooke will now join up with Kelly Chambers as a key member of her backroom team at Reading FC Women.
Her new role will see Brooke take over the day-to-day operations of the football club, providing support with personnel, finance and logistics.

It was announced in April that the long-standing Royals midfielder had retired from professional football upon advice from healthcare professionals as she received treatment for a bone tumour.
To recognise her service to the club, Brooke was presented with a special shirt and met with a guard of honour by both sets of players when we took on Manchester City at the Select Car Leasing Stadium towards the end of the 2021-22 WSL season.
The tumour has now been fully removed and Brooke is now continuing with her rehabilitation. And, with different goals and a different role to play, Brooke is back!
On her new role she said, “I’m really looking forward to this new chapter.
“It’s been a great couple of months, spending time with my family, focusing on my recovery but now it’s time for something new.
“When Kelly approached me with this opportunity, there was no doubt in my mind about it. I love this club, so having this chance to continue being here, I had to take it.
“It will certainly take some getting used to, but I’m raring to go and excited to get started.”
Great to have you back, Brooke!
