Goalkeeper to return to the Royals
Reading goalie Jokull Andresson has been recalled from his loan spell with League One side Morecambe.
The 20-year-old stopper – who received his first call-up to the Iceland senior squad last week – made 17 appearances for the Shrimps in all competitions this season, including keeping clean sheets in league wins against Shrewsbury and Sheffield Wednesday.
That is added to a further two appearances spent on loan at Morecambe last season, between two separate spells with Exeter City in which he played on 32 occasions.
Upon his return from international duty in Turkey, where his country will face Uganda and South Korea in friendly fixtures, Jokull will rejoin first-team training with the Royals at Bearwood.
Having played for Iceland at various age levels up to Under-21, he could be involved in a senior squad for the first time this Wednesday when they take on Uganda – who narrowly missed out on Africa Cup of Nations qualification – in Antalya on Wednesday. Then on Saturday, they face a Korean squad featuring players almost exclusively from the K-League.

Meanwhile goalkeeper James Holden has also been recalled from his loan spell with Maidenhead United, having made eight appearances for the Magpies this season.
Having spent the end of the 2020-21 campaign at York Road, the 20-year-old rejoined our Berkshire neighbours in the summer for a second loan stint.
His first appearance of the current campaign for Maidenhead came in a 2-1 away win at Halifax – current league leaders in the National League – before keeping a clean-sheet in a 2-0 win against bottom side Dover Athletic.
