Canadian international midfielder swaps the US for RG2
Kelly Chambers' squad has been further bolstered by the signing of Canadian international midfielder Deanne Rose, who signs with the Royals on a two-year deal following her departure from Southeastern conference side, Florida Gators.
The Ontario-born Canadian, who is currently away with Canada at the Tokyo Olympics, becomes Chambers' fifth summer signing - she'll link up with the Royals in August upon completion of her international duties in Japan.
Rose and her Canadian teammates advanced to the knockout stages following a draw with Great Britain, and will now face Brazil in the quarter-finals on Thursday 30 July.
Before opting for a first move to England, and to the Select Car Leasing Stadium - Rose had spent the previous four years with the Gators representing the University of Florida, netting 19 goals in 51 appearances for the East coast outfit. In January 2021, Rose was also selected 10th overall in the annual National Women's Soccer League draft by the North Carolina Courage.
Still aged just 22, Deanne has impressive international pedigree under her belt, having made her international debut at the age of 16 back in December 2015.

Since then she has clocked up 55 Canadian caps, scoring for her country on ten occasions. Rose also became an Olympic silver medalist at the Rio 2016 games, as she helped Canada progress to the final of the Women's Soccer, only to lose out narrowly to the Americans.
Rose, who between 2015 and 2017 played her youth football for Scarborough GS United, scored her first international goals against Guyana in February 2016, finding the net twice during a CONCACAF Womens' Olympic Qualifier.
Upon completing a deal for Rose, Reading FC Women boss Kelly Chambers said: "I am extremely excited to being Deanne to Reading. Deanne is a player with so much raw ability and will bring something completely different to my team.
"At the age of 22, she already has over 50 caps for Canada, which is very impressive and it shows you the ability of the player we've secured.
"Deanne is extremely ambitious, and is a player that wants to take her game to the next level. She has the drive and determination to want to be the best, and I am so excited to work with her to support her ambitions alongside pushing the team to the next level!"
Welcome to the Royals, Deanne and all the best with the remainder of your time at the Olympics!
