The Bees' need to self isolate means the EFL have approved the suspension of this weekend's game

Unfortunately, our upcoming home fixture with Brentford this weekend has been postponed due to a number of positive tests returned by the visitors.

Brentford’s next two Sky Bet Championship fixtures against Bristol City on Wednesday 13th January and ourselves on Saturday 16th January have been suspended.

Brentford informed the EFL that they would be unable to fulfil the fixtures following recent positive COVID-19 tests and the requirement for players and staff to self-isolate as per EFL and Government guidance in order to mitigate against the risk of further infection.

The circumstances surrounding the postponements will now be the subject of an investigation in accordance with EFL Regulations.

Our rearranged home fixture against Brentford will now be played on Wednesday 10th February, kick-off 7pm.

However, should Brentford remain in the FA Cup beyond the Fourth Round, our league meeting against the Bees will instead be rescheduled for Wednesday 10th March, kick-off 7pm.

Everyone at Reading Football Club would like to send their very best wishes for a safe and speedy recovery to all concerned at Brentford.
