17-year-old Guinea-Bissau national puts pen to paper on deal lasting until summer of 2022
We are pleased to announce that 17-year-old forward Mamadi Camara has put pen to paper on his first professional deal with the Royals which will keep at the club until the summer of 2022.
Camara, who played youth football for Portuguese side C.D. Feirense, made his Reading debut as a 78th minute substitute during our Emirates FA Cup Third Round tie with Luton Town in January.
He was then included in Veljko Paunovic's first team squad for the following two league games - a win over Coventry City and a draw away at Preston North End.
The youngster, who is a national of Guinea-Bissau, arrived at the club in October 2020, when he was initially signed to be part of the Under-18s setup.
And since the start of November, Camara has played for the Royals Under-18s on four occasions, scoring once during a 5-2 win over Norwich City.
Congratulations to Mamadi, who occupies the number 50 shirt in the current Royals squad.
