Key information as we learn our Third Round fate for 2021-22

It’s that time of the year again – the qualifying rounds are done, the first two rounds proper are almost complete… and we’ll be entering the 2021-22 rendition of the Emirates FA Cup next month in the Third Round.

Royals fans will be looking out keenly for ball 35 – our allocated number for this stage.

And the draw itself takes place this evening (Monday 6 December) at 7pm on ITV4, ahead of the televised Second Round tie between Boreham Wood and St Albans City – where Royals goalkeeper Coniah Boyce-Clarke is on loan.

We’ll be joined by all of the other Championship and Premier League sides, also entering at this stage, as well as the 20 winners from the previous stage.

There will be four non-League sides available to be drawn – Yeovil Town, Kidderminster Harriers, Chesterfield and the winners of the Boreham Wood vs St Albans City tie. While at the other end of the spectrum, there is the prospect of a glamour-tie with one of English football’s elite. Meanwhile there is just a single replay to be contested as it stands; Barrow held Ipswich Town to a goalless draw.
