✍️ Young centre-back Jeriel Dorsett pens new contract with the club

18-year-old Academy graduate commits to the Royals until 2022

Reading Football Club are pleased to announce that 18-year-old defender Jeriel Dorsett has signed a new contract, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2022.

Dorsett signed his first professional deal with the club last October, just days after making his international debut for the England Under-18 side in wins over Austria and Poland.

The centre-back was a regular for our Under-18s last season and he came off the bench back in January to make his first team bow in an FA Cup victory over Blackpool.

In replacing fellow Academy graduate Andre Burley at the back, Jeriel added his name to the Academy Honours Board at Madejski Stadium…becoming the 56^th player to come through the ranks at Reading and feature for our first team.

Academy football is back up and running following its halt during the pandemic lockdown period and Dorsett is sure to play an important part in our Premier League 2 campaign with the Under-23s this season.
