Young goalkeeper returns to his Premier League parent club
Reading Football Club can confirm that 20-year-old goalkeeper João Virgínia has been recalled early from his loan spell in RG2 to return to his parent club Everton.
The young Portuguese stopper joined the Royals’ ranks during our pre-season preparations last summer.
The former Benfica and Arsenal youth player had impressed in Everton’s Academy and made his professional debut as a Reading player when he started in our opening day defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in August.
He went on to make two further starts for the first team at Hull in the Championship and Wolves in the Carabao Cup in late September.
In rejoining the Toffees’ ranks, everyone at Reading Football Club would like to wish João the very best of luck in his future career.
