Your fixtures for the coming season!

The fixture list is in, the dates are set… and now we know that our Sky Bet Championship campaign for 2020-21 will begin with a trip to Derby County on Saturday 12th September.

Pride Park was the first ground that we visited after the restart last season back in June – a goal by Andy Rinomhota wasn’t enough to overturn strikes by Tom Lawrence and Wayne Rooney in the first period. So we’ll be looking for a better result in the opener this time.

Then Barnsley are our first guests in the new Championship season… September looks like a quiet month, but we could be involved in as many as four Carabao Cup games before October if we do well in the competition! Colchester United provide the first hurdle when they come to Madejski Stadium on Saturday 5th September, a week before the league campaign gets underway, and then the following three rounds take place in consecutive midweeks from Tuesday 15th September onwards.

It’s a jam-packed calendar with no less than 13 midweek matches in the Championship… that includes a hectic festive period, and a run-in which involves an Inflatables Day trip to Norwich and the curtain falling at home against Huddersfield.

As things stand, fixtures will initially be scheduled for 3pm on Saturdays, Good Friday and Easter Monday and 7.45pm/8pm for midweek games. However, in a similar situation to after the restart, the EFL have permitted clubs to mutually agree kick-off times for fixtures before fans are permitted to attend. We will announce any changes of kick-off times when they are arranged.
