Bio

Hounslow born defender Nesta Guinness-Walker joined the Royals in the summer of 2022 on a one-year deal, having spent part of the summer on trial.

The left back began his footballing career in the academies of Premier League sides Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, before he played Sunday League football where he was spotted by non-league Metropolitan Police in 2016.

He featured against Football League opposition for the first time in the FA Cup First Round later that year against Newport County, and was snapped up by then-League One side AFC Wimbledon. He featured 27 times that year for the Dons, scoring against Ipswich Town, before his first season was curtailed by the covid-19 pandemic.

On the opening day of the 2020-21 campaign, he scored the second in a 2-2 draw at Northampton Town as he made himself an integral part of the Dons side for a second season as the club returned to Plough Lane.

In his third season in South London, he played another 35 times and netted the first in a 2-2 comeback draw with Sheffield Wednesday in October 2021.

He initially joined the Royals on trial in July 2022 and - after featuring in pre-season - put pen to paper on a contract, before debuting away at Blackpool on the opening day of 2022-23.

Guinness-Walker made 30 appearances during the 2022-23 season, starting 19 games. The wing-back forced his way into the starting eleven during the second half of the season.
