Carson spent eight years in the Academy at Liverpool, before being released at the age of fourteen and joining fellow Premier League side Burnley for a further five years.

The left-back then joined Accrington Stanley, gaining experience in the men's game with loans to Carrick Rangers, AFC Telford United and Stalybridge Celtic, before joining the Royals in February 2023.

Linking up with Noel Hunt’s side, he impressed last season - scoring a brilliant goal against Arsenal to take a Premier League Cup clash to extra-time on the Gunners' home turf.

The 2023/24 campaign saw him make his debut for the club in August, as a young side battered Millwall 4-0 at The Den in the Carabao Cup.

From there he's gone on to play regularly in the first team, starting in wins over Cheltenham and Stevenage, as well as playing the full 90 in our historic 9-0 win over Exeter City, grabbing two assists in that game.
