Left-back John Clarke joined the Royals ahead of the 2022-23 season.

Clarke signed from Staffordshire outfit Port Vale, whom he had been with since signing from Stockport County in 2021.

The full-back impressed during the 2022-23 pre-season, going on to make his First Team debut in the 2-1 win over Cardiff City in August 2022, coming on to replace Junior Hoilett.

Just three days later, the forward-thinking defender made his first start for the Royals in the 2-1 defeat to Stevenage in the Carabao Cup.

The defender made his Republic of Ireland Under-19 debut in September 2022, representing Tom Mohan's U19 side on two occasions.

An injury has ruled the youngster out since November 2022, but he continues to progress well with his recovery.
