Bio
Naby Sarr joined the Royals on a four-year deal in August 2022 having been apart of the Huddersfield Town side that had reached the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final the previous season.
The Marseille born defender began his career with Lyon and scored on his debut for the club in a 2-0 win over Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona in the UEFA Europa League in 2012.
The next year he started alongside the likes of Kurt Zouma, Paul Pogba and Lucas Digne for France as he helped Les Bleus win the Under-20 FIFA World Cup Final against Uruguay.
He joined Sporting Lisbon in 2014 and played against Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League, scoring in the competition in a 4-2 win over Schalke.
The following year he moved to these shores to sign for Charlton Athletic and scored his first goal in the red of Charlton against future employers Huddersfield Town in September 2015.
Sarr spent the 2016-17 season loan in Paris with Red Star and featured 24 times before establishing himself in the Addicks first team in 2018-19 as they earned promotion back to the Championship following a Play-Off Final win over Sunderland.
The following season would be his last at the Valley and he found the net against Derby County, Hull City and Queens Park Rangers before departing for West Yorkshire in 2020.
The 6’6” centre half played over 60 games during his time with Huddersfield, helped his side to third in the table in 2021-22 and played in both Play-Off Semi-Final matches against Luton Town as the Terriers reached Wembley, where they were defeated by Nottingham Forest.
Berkshire proved to be Sarr’s next destination and he got off to the prefect start when he scored what turned out to be the winner against Millwall, as well as helping keep a clean sheet, on his debut for the club in August 2022.
