Azeez’s senior career began with non-league sides Northwood and Wealdstone, before joining the Royals in September 2019.

Azeez continued to impress with the Under-23s, finishing the campaign as the top goalscorer for our Under-23 side during their 2020-21 Premier League 2 campaign, netting 10 goals in 17 appearances for Mehmet Ali’s youngsters, and also making his senior debut during a 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday in March 2021.

Azeez was given his first senior start on the opening day of the 2021/22 season - before scoring in successive home matches against Preston North End and Bristol City, registering a total of 14 appearances in for the first team across a campaign cut short by injury in 2021-22.

This season has seen him come into his own, established as a leader in the dressing room, despite only being 22, and providing 8 goals and 8 assists in all competition.

This included a run of 8 goal involvements in 9 league games between November and January. Including stunners against Wigan, Exeter and Charlton to name a few, all of which have been nominated for Goal of the Season.
