Bio

Cesare joined the Royals on a loan from Premier League Chelsea until the end of the 2022-23 season.

Casadei began his career with Cervia before moving to Cesena to continue his youth career until 2018 – when he signed for Inter Milan.

Playing up the age groups, he was part of Inter’s title-winning Under-17 squad in his first season in Milan and the following season he made a seamless step up to the Nerazzurri’s Under-19s age group.

Casadei scored a crucial equaliser to help his team overcome Roma in the play-off final - his 16th goal in 38 appearances in the Primavera division and UEFA Youth League that season.

Simultaneously, the promising youngster was also being integrated into the first team, regularly training with the Serie A giants before being named in the squad by manager Simone Inzaghi for a league clash with Sassuolo in February 2022.

He was also part of Inter’s pre-season tour before Chelsea snapped him up in the summer of 2022; Casadei replaced Romelu Lukaku to feature in a 4-1 win against Lugano in July before signing a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge in August.

Cesare has since impressed at Under-21 level – scoring on his Premier League 2 debut against Everton. The young Italian has scored four times in eight starts for Chelsea’s Under-21s. He also featured for Graham Potter’s first team in a friendly against Aston Villa in December 2022, coming off the bench to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in a mid-World Cup encounter in Abu Dhabi.

A youth international with Italy, Casadei made his Under-21 debut for his country against Germany in November 2022 and Roberto Mancini included Cesare in a training camp with the senior side the following month.
