GETTING READY FOR THE LOCAL DERBY

Lewis Wing look ahead to the clash with The Chairboys this Saturday afternoon in Sky Bet League One.

The Royals Vice-Captain, spoke about his time with Wycombe, what playing in a local derby is like and how we need the fans this Saturday afternoon.

You can read his full thoughts below:

Reflecting on Tuesday night and the last eleven games unbeaten
"We are feeling good, obviously it was disappointing to lose on Tuesday night, but looking back on the latest eleven games we went on a good unbeaten run, and no one expected us to do that so one defeat isn't going to define us and hopefully we can bounce back with a win over the weekend."

The atmosphere in the changing room after Blackpool
"I think we were all disappointed at first but then we realised what we have achieved over the last eleven games, and I think it is very important to just stay on track and keep what the goal in our mind. There are loads of games coming up, so you can easily bounce back and go on another run."

Looking ahead to this Saturdays local derby against Wycombe
"It's another big game, a local derby, it's going to be a feisty one and it is going to be exciting. But the most important thing is that we bounce back from Tuesday night, I thought it wasn't a bad game we played well in spells, but three mistakes cost us the game. If we keep doing what we have been doing, we will be fine."

What it's like to play in a local derby
"You get that little bit of an extra buzz in these kinds of games, knowing what it means to the fans and the fact it is this close to the end of the season it is very important game for both teams and it should be a very good game."

On playing against one of his former teams
"It's always nice to play an ex-team, you always want to play well and prove you are the player that you are. But I am not going to let that get in the way of the situation, then main is to get three points and get back on track and keep pushing for promotion."

What he is expecting from the Chairboys on Saturday
"They will be a very physical team, they have got a very big squad with a lot of quality players so it's going to be a tough game but what we have done this season, I think we can beat anyone in this league so it's going to be a very good game."

On the importance of turning the Select Car Leasing Stadium into a fortress
"It's been our safety place, we have loads of confidence to win games at home and I am looking forward to getting back there and hopefully getting three points."

The impact of the fans and having a strong home support
"When the fans show up in their numbers it helps us a lot. It's a cliche but they really are our 12th man and thats why we have done so well this season."

A message to the fans thinking about coming down
"We are in a promotion push, come and get behind us there is 7 games left to reach our goal that we set out at the start of the season. So get down there support us and we will hopefully put on a show for you."
