Shot stopper returns to Iceland on short term loan
Reading Football Club can confirm that 22-year-old goalkeeper Jökull Andrésson has completed the paperwork on a loan move to Icelandic second tier side Afturelding – the club where he spent much of his youth career before joining the Royals.
The 6ft 4 shot stopper has signed a deal with the Mosfellsbær based side that will keep him with the club until the 31st October, which coincides with the conclusion of their current league campaign.

Since joining the club in 2017, Jökull has benefited from EFL experience with loan moves to Exeter City, Morecambe, Stevenage, and most recently a season-long term at Carlisle United in League One.
He has also received recognition from his National Team, playing for Iceland's First Team in a friendly against Uganda in January 2022.
The move back to his home country will see him and his new club look to improve on last season's second place league finish.
We would like to wish Jökull the very best of luck during his loan spell.
