The club can today confirm Tom Holmes has joined Luton Town for an undisclosed fee.
Vice-captain Holmes joined us at the age of 8, and made his senior debut just shy of a decade later, in a 1-1 draw against Bolton Wanderers in March 2018.
Our 47th Academy graduate has since gone on to make 129 appearances in blue and white, over a century of those coming as league starts, scoring just once, a spectacular bicycle kick against Hull City in December 2021.

Whilst Holmes will now become a Hatter, a loan agreement between the two clubs will see him remain a Royal for the rest of the campaign.
Subject to the usual ratification by the EFL & FA, he will be available for selection for Saturday's forthcoming fixture at Wigan Athletic.
Everyone at Reading Football Club would like to congratulate Tom on his move, and look forward to working with him for the rest of the season.
