Lewis is ‘up for the battle’ in League One and can’t wait to get started as a Royal…
This Wing won’t be clipped. Our new midfield signing spoke to us in his first interview since putting pen to paper at the end of last week and he’s raring to go as a Royal!
“I’m over the moon to be here,” Lewis Wing explained. “The size of this club, the ambition of the club and the direction this club is going, it’s something I really want to be part of.
“The move happened so quickly, I think it came up only about three days ago. It’s been a whirlwind.

“I would have liked to have signed to a club earlier in the window…but I didn’t want to jump into something too quickly, I was waiting for the right club. This is the right club for me.
“I’ve spoken to the manager and he’s got his point across; this club wants to get back to where it belongs and that’s why I’m here – to help the team.
“The rebuild process is exciting. Seeing the facilities first hand, this club should not be in this league. So it has to be our aim to get out of it as soon as we can. And I’m excited to get to work.”
Lewis knows what it takes to compete at this level – having spent time at Wycombe and Sheffield Wednesday in recent seasons.

As a player, I like to get involved in the game. I’m box-to-box, I like getting my shots off, I like scoring goals and setting them up – but mainly I like to give 110% and that’s what you’ll get every time I put the shirt on.

“It's a very tough league. It’s demanding, very physical – you’ve got to be up for the battle in every game. Speaking to the manager, I think he knows that he’s ready for it.
“To have a successful season, the team has to be close, it has to be together. And I feel good. I’m ready to gel with the team and kick on for the start of the new season
“Personally, I’ve worked hard to get here and it’s been a good journey so far. Now I just want to keep growing as a footballer.
