Midfielder Kian Leavy has put pen to paper on a loan agreement which will see him link up with League of Ireland top-flight side Shelbourne FC until the summer.
The Drogheda-born 20-year-old made his Royals first team debut back in August 2021 and started his second game in blue and white hoops this season in our Carabao Cup defeat to Stevenage.
He has been named in the first team squad for seven league matches to date but is yet to make his league debut as a Reading player. Now a loan move across the Irish Sea will help the talented young midfielder earn regular first team experience.
And the Royals Academy graduate will be working under a very experienced ex-Irish international in Damien Duff who is Head Coach at Tolka Park.
Shelbourne finished in seventh place in 2022 and begin their 2023 campaign at home to Drogheda United next weekend.
Everyone at Reading Football Club would like to wish Kian the best of luck during his loan spell.
