We can confirm that striker George Puscas has completed a loan move to Italian second tier side Genoa which will see him compete for Serie B points until the summer of 2023.
The Romanian international spent the second half of last season in the same division during a successful loan spell with Pisa that yielded eight goals in 22 appearances.
As a Royal, he added two more to his goal count in 2021-22 - taking his overall tally to 20 goals scored across a total of 91 appearances in blue and white hoops since signing from Inter Milan in the summer of 2019.
Puscas was afforded a delayed return to pre-season training this summer following his extended involvement in Pisa’s unsuccessful play-off push for promotion which was followed by three starts for Romania in Nations League meetings with Bosnia-Herzegovina, Finland and Montenegro in June.

He has not featured under Paul Ince in the Royals’ opening six fixtures and arrived in Genoa yesterday to complete a medical and put pen to paper on a loan move back to Italy.
Genoa, the oldest club in Italy, were relegated from the top flight last season when they finished in 19th place in Serie A in 2021-22.
The 26-year-old forward will be hoping to hit the ground running at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris as Genoa look to extend their unbeaten start to the season when they travel to Puscas’ former loan side Pisa this weekend. Puscas’ home bow could come against Parma the following weekend.
Everyone at Reading Football Club would like to wish George the very best of luck during his loan spell in Italy.
