Latest Academy recruits get home adulation as they begin their Royals journey…
At half-time on Saturday, our Academy’s latest intake of Under-9s were presented to the supporters as they begin their journey with Reading Football Club.
The world is at their feet! There are few better places in the country to pave a pathway into professional football than right here at Reading – our Category 1 Academy has a rich history of churning out talented footballers, and just as importantly, really rounded people.
Tom Holmes, Tom McIntyre and Luke Southwood were all in Saturday’s squad – and as players who joined the club at similar ages to our new recruits, they have some excellent role-models to aspire to…
They have already had one moment of adulation out on the pitch, receiving a right Royal welcome to the club at half-time. Their challenge now is to work hard, enjoy the learning experience, have a whole heap of fun, and try to progress through the ranks to one day join our senior team – and have the support of the home crowd during the match itself!
