Academy graduate leaves Royals to begin new chapter at Bloomfield Road

Reading Football Club can announce that 21-year-old right-back Teddy Howe has joined League One Blackpool.

Having come through the ranks with the Royals, Howe first put pen to paper on a professional contract at Reading when he was 18 years of age in February 2017.

Impressing at Under-18, Under-21 and Under-23 level, Howe was rewarded for his consistent performances with a first team debut on the final day of the 2018-19 season, coming off the bench for Chris Gunter in a goalless draw with Birmingham City at Madejski Stadium.

This season, Howe has started five times for the senior side in Carabao Cup and FA Cup ties – and he played the full ninety minutes in both Third Round encounters against the Tangerines earlier this month, the second of which saw Mark Bowen’s men earn a clean sheet and a 2-0 win against the Seasiders.

In search of regular first team football, Howe now begins a new chapter in his career with Simon Grayson’s side.

Everyone at Reading Football Club would like to wish Teddy the very best of luck in Lancashire and in his future career.
