Promising forward signs his first contract at the club

Talented 17-year-old forward Thierry Nevers has put pen to paper on his first professional contract and commit his future to the Royals until the summer of 2021.

Despite playing well above his age group, Nevers has impressed at Under-23 level this season, scoring five goals in nine starts under Scott Marshall.

He scored a brace against Newcastle United to open his 2019-20 account in style at the start of the season and scored a spectacular effort against Swansea City at Madejski Stadium in September.

He has also added his name to the scoresheet against West Bromwich Albion and Colchester United, not to mention a strike against Norwich City scored at Under-18s level in November.

Nevers was even named as part of the first team squad when the Royals travelled to Plymouth Argyle the Carabao Cup towards the end of August – a sign of the high regard he is held in at the club.

We would like to congratulate Thierry on his first professional deal and look forward to seeing him make more progress as he develops his fledgling career as a Royal.
