Sone signs loan switch to spend the rest of 2019 in China
Reading Football Club can confirm that 30-year-old forward Sone Aluko has now completed paperwork on a loan move which will see him spend the remainder of 2019 in the Chinese Super League with Beijing Renhe.
The former Aberdeen, Rangers and Hull City attacking midfielder arrived in RG2 at the end of August 2017 and has scored four goals in 50(+10) appearances since signing for the Royals from Fulham.
The transfer window in China remains open until the end of the month and Sone - the younger brother to England Women striker Eniola Aluko, who is also playing her football overseas this season with Juventus in Serie A - will now begin a loan spell in the Chinese capital.
Beijing Renhe, managed by Aleksandar Stanojević and based in Fengtai - a suburb south-west of the city - finished in eighth place in the top tier in China last year.
They begin a brand new league campaign at the start of March when they take on Shandong Luneng on Friday 1st March. And Aluko’s loan deal will see him represent Renhe until New Year’s Day in 2020.
Everyone at Reading Football Club would like to wish Sone the very best of luck during his loan spell in China.
