Reading defender Nesta Guinness-Walker says the side knows the importance of ending the season on a high
Speaking after the 1-0 Home defeat to Millwall, the Royals wing back says that the group have to cut out the errors and find themselves on the right side of knife-edge games.
"It comes down to fine margins in games like these, and we have to focus on the games that are coming up. Both games against Millwall and Sheffield United have been 1-0 defeats where we could have got something from the game.
"This week we’ve played second and fifth in the league and been competitive in both games. It’s just the fine margins that have cost us points, so we have to take that into the rest of the season. We’ll be looking at Wednesday and going into the game trying to put things right and give a good account of ourselves.
"All the games in the Championship are tough games. We’ll be focusing on Wednesday and looking to get some points. We’ve looked at our away record and know it needs to improve. We just want to impose ourselves on the game against Blackburn."
Guinness-Walker said that the Millwall game was a frustrating test, but they didn't come as a surprise.
The former Wimbledon man went on to talk about his personal performance, as well as the availability of his teammates amidst a grueling schedule over the last few weeks.
"We knew what Millwall were about and we spoke about it before the game - once they got that goal they’re going to be defending it. They defended well as a side and unfortunately, we couldn’t break them down today.
"We’ve got great experience in this team and in the dressing room, so we know that it’s on every player out there to try and pull their weight and get a goal in those situations.
"It was difficult for me to get into the game, especially today, but we changed some things around and we were really pushing for that goal at the end.
"It’s getting to that point of the season where players are picking up little knocks because the games are coming thick and fast, but I’m feeling good and we’ve got to finish the season strong."
